Our History

We are Raptor Force Engineering, Team 1662, from Jim Elliot Christian High School in Lodi, California.

Our school is named after the missionary Jim Elliot who was martyred in the jungles of Ecuador. (click here for more on Jim Elliot)

In the fall of 2004, with a donation from the late Doug Buhr, Raptor Force Engineering, Team 1662, came to be.

Our goal: keep Christ as the center of our team, work together to create a robot for the FIRST Robotics competition, and learn the many manual and life skills that come through the experience.

The year 2005 was our rookie year.  We finished 26th at the Davis-Sacramento Regional, but that didn't stop us from having fun along the way.

In 2006, we won  along with Team 1726, Buena High School, Sierra Vista, AZ and Team 852, The Athenian School, Danville, CA. , we won the Sacramento Regioanl at UC Davis.

In 2007, we were a Davis-Sacramento semifinalist, and an Atlanta World Championship participant.

For 2008, we were Regional Winners, along with Teams 115 and 2122;also that year, we were a Davis-Sacramento Regional Delphi Award winner.

In 2010 Team 1662 had the privilege of being invited to the Israel Regional in Tel Aviv. A great time was had by all.
